	How long do the extensions last? When properly applied, Novalash^TMLashes can last up to two months or more. Patti’s Place For Hair, recommends touch-ups after the initial full set application. Properly applied lashes will last for the length of the natural growth cycle of each eyelash hair. How often do I need a fill? This depends on how well you care for these lashes; how you sleep on them; and whether you use mascara. Most of our clients return every three weeks to keep their lashes lush and full. Some of our clients prefer fills at two-week intervals for additional thickness. What special care is required? Each client receives a complete “care card” to take home. Some of the precautions are: Do not get extensions wet for 12 hours after applications. Wait 24 hours to use mascara and only use AN APPROVED FORMULA MASCARA. NEVER use waterproof mascara. Do not allow any makeup removers, creams, products that contain CARBONATES, PEG, or any form of GLYCOL to come in contact with the extensions. Theses chemicals can soften the adhesive bond and cause “lifting” of the extensions. How do I clean my extensions? Patti’s Place For Hair offers Novalash’s^TM recommended Glycol and Carbonate free anti-aging make-up remover. Why does it cost so much? YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! The application of eyelash extensions is a challenging and exacting process. In order for the procedure to be safe with beautiful long lasting results, the technician should be a licensed professional who has undergone a rigorous training certification process in the eyelash extensions technique. This training process requires an extensive investment of time and energy. In addition to the technical demands of the job and experience of the professional, artistry plays a significant role in how natural extensions look and how long they remain in place. For safety of the client, proper sanitation procedures must be followed.
	Things to consider when choosing an eyelash extension specialist: Does the person performing the service hold a valid license? Has the person been through a certification process with a reputable company? Is their place of business been licensed and inspected by the State Board of Cosmetology? How may extension services have, they successfully performed. Ask for references. Are they artistic and talented? Do the lashes look natural yet lush and long or are they clumpy and fake looking? What adhesive is used? Is the adhesive made in USA or imported? Is the adhesive pharmaceutical grade? Is the adhesive free of formaldehyde and carcinogens? Does the adhesive create a durable bond between extension and the natural lash or do the extensions slide off after a week or two? Does the extension specialist use proper sanitary procedures to insure the health and safety of the client? Does the extension specialist sanitize tools between clients? Does the extension specialist sanitize hands before each service? You only have two eyes. It is not worth the risk of injury or infection to go to an unaccredited extension specialist. Is it Safe? Choose Wisely WARNING: The State Of Michigan Board of Cosmetology has not issued any restrictions or rulings on eyelash extensions. Unfortunately, anyone who can obtain extensions and glue can perform the service without fear of legal ramifications. They do not have to hold a license in the field of cosmetology, or be certified nor experienced in the art of eyelash extensions. They do not have to perform the service in an inspected and licensed establishment. Some unscrupulous companies are selling supplies indiscriminately on their websites. Some of the supplies contain adhesives that are not FDA approved for cosmetic or medical purposes. Many black cyanoacrylate-containing adhesives originally formulated with the automotive industry in mind, can sometimes contain impurities that are not save for use on humans.
